Overview
Through our highly competent engineers with many years of hands-on experience, QPS offers a just-in-time field evaluation of fuel burning equipment and appliances, including the most complex systems, to the applicable Canadian or US standards and codes.
In Canada, fuel burning appliances and equipment are evaluated to the requirements of CSA B149.3 Code, and/or other applicable standards agreed upon with the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Complying products are labeled using the QPS label shown below:
In the USA, fuel burning appliances and equipment are evaluated to the applicable standards, including NFPA 85, NFPA 86, UL 795, ANSI Z83.11/CSA 1.8, and/or other applicable standards agreed upon with the local AHJ. Complying products are labeled using the QPS label shown below:
Evaluation of Alternative Energy Equipment
Hydrogen dispensers, Hydrogen compressors, Natural gas dispensers, Natural gas compressors and relevant equipment are evaluated to ANSI/HGV 4.1, ANSI/HGV 4.8, NFPA 2, BNQ 1784, ISO 22734-1, ANSI/NGV 4.1, ANSI/NGV 4.8, NFPA 52, CSA B108 and other applicable standards agreed upon with local AHJ.
When should you choose Field Evaluation?
- The equipment is custom-built and does not bear an approval label
- The equipment is imported and does not bear an approval label
- You wish to have your design evaluated prior to submitting it to full certification
- No existing certification standard applies to your product
- The equipment is not new and is already installed
